Congratulations on your choice: you have made a good decision if you want to install electric underfloor heating in your home, in rooms with heated floors, and you have chosen heating film (heating foil).
The installation of the heating film requires a specially trained professional. It can be quickly installed under a warm covering (laminate floor or, depending on individual considerations, shipboard flooring or cork). As a first step, we install insulation material, preventing heat from escaping downwards. Then comes the laying of the heating film, to which we fit the appropriate connectors, and a vapour barrier foil is placed on top. Finally, the laminate floor can come (8 mm thick is recommended). As we have already mentioned, shipboard flooring or cork covering can also be considered.
The connector is terminated sideways.
This makes it easier to assemble the rows, but of course we can also provide other solutions.
What connectors are needed and why?
This connector, which can accommodate a maximum wire size of 4 mm2, is used to secure electrical wires. It is used to connect the wire to the heating film, so the power supply is ensured.
After cutting the heating film to size, we stretch the foil at the copper strip running on both sides of the heating film and attach the connector. The connector can be attached to the heating film by crimping. Then we insulate it with insulating tape. For crimping, i.e. to properly attach the connector to the wire, a special crimping tool is required.
This connector requires a special crimping and punching tool.
